Emordi Quits Enugu Rangers

Enugu Rangers coach, Okey Emordi has resigned his appointment with the management of the Coal City side.
Emordi tendered his resignation shortly after his side secured a 1-0 win against El Kanemi Warriors in Sunday’s Glo Premier League Matchday 38 encounter at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

The former Enyimba coach who spent just two seasons at the Enugu-based side complained he did not enjoy conducive working environment at the camp of the six-time Nigerian champions.

“I’ve resigned my appointment with the management of Enugu Rangers with immediate effect, I thanked the management for the opportunity extended to me to serve the club and I wished the side well in their future endeavours.
“I think I didn’t have a good atmosphere to do my work which more or less is the main reason I decided to quit my job.
“I praise myself for finishing second in my first tenure as well as qualifying the side for the CAF Champions League. The manner in which we’re hounded out of the African competition still hurts me.
“Though my dream was to finish first and end the side's over 30-year wait for a silverware but what transpired last season was a common knowledge that doesn’t worth repeating.

“I want to congratulate Kano Pillars for winning the league title back to back,” Emordi said to supersport.com.
The former African best coach adjudged his side's performance in the 2012/13 Glo Premier League season as not a bad one given the platform the side operated.
“Our performance in the just gone season is not totally bad given the challenges we faced in trying to work out something positive for ourselves.
“We had the best recruitment exercise but the management's poor handling of the signing-on fees of the players robbed us of their services as all of them going back to their respective clubs,” Emordi said.

Asked his next port of call, Emordi said he has just resigned his appointment and will be available for any side that needs his service.
“The news right now is that I’ve resigned my appointment with Enugu Rangers that makes me available for any side that require my service,” he said.
