Nembe City technical adviser, Meremu Okara has expressed satisfaction with the point his wards picked up at Akwa United.
The newcomers were forced to a barren draw in Wednesday’s Glo Premier League Matchday 35 encounter at the Uyo Township Stadium.
Okara said the scoreless draw in Uyo is the best thing that would be happening to his side in the ongoing elite league season.
“This is the best thing that has happened to us in the season going outside one’s base to pick a point at this time. I’m really overwhelmed with the outcome of the match.
“Gradually and steadily we’re climbing out from the threatening murky water of relegation and we’ve vowed never to turn back until we completely climb to safety.
“It’s important we continue to pick points as the season drives home, the spirit among the players has been all time high after our game against Kano Pillars and highest following the spirited victory we recorded against city rivals, Bayelsa United.
“We’re not going to give up on the fight for survival, the struggle to secure the status quo of Nembe City in the Premier League is continuing.
“The point at Akwa United will further boost our confidence in the next home game against 3SC, we’ll quickly return home to start in earnest the plot to grab three points in the encounter.
“It’s going to be a must win encounter for us if we’re to come out from the troubled water,” said Okara to supersport.com.
The point Nembe City grabbed at Akwa United has increased their points haul to 46 with three matches left in the season’s calendar.
