Rescheduled Fixtures: Kano Pillars in Catch Us if you Can

The ancient city of Kano will come alive on Saturday when the Glo Premier League double-header takes place. League champions and leaders, Kano Pillars, will host Dolphins while Rangers International FC will be guests of El-Kanemi Warriors at the same venue.

On Sunday, Bayelsa United and Giwa FC will square up in Benin City to round off the rescheduled matches this weekend.

Kano Pillars vs Dolphins
Venue: Kano Pillars Stadium, Kano
Date: 14.06.2014
Time: 2pm

The champions will aim to pull clear of the teams in the top-half of the table by winning this match. But Dolphins stand in their way of finishing the first round with a three-points gap at the top. The Port Harcourt-based club will want to improve on the recent outing of their city rivals, Sharks, who lost 4-1 in Kano.

Interestingly Pillars are on a run of 10 unbeaten matches and that means Dolphins will need to put up a fine display to stop the Kano-based club from extending that run to 11.

El-Kanemi Warriors vs Rangers International

Venue: Kano Pillars Stadium, Kano
Date: 14.06.2014
Time: 4pm

Both clubs have found themselves in the lower half of the table and are just hovering above the relegation zone. Rangers have had unimpressive results, failing to pick any points on the road in their last five away matches. Their poor form gets no respite from wranglings in camp that has set the Management dangling sack threats on some players and this definitely isn't the best mood to take to Kano.

Rangers will also head into this clash without having scored at El-Kanemi in their last three visits in which they have lost all three.

El-Kanemi, on the other hand, will want to keep up with their recent form at home where they have won 4-0 against Kaduna United and 2-0 against Giwa FC. This game is a big test for the status of both clubs.

Bayelsa United vs Giwa FC

Venue: Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City
Date: 15.06.2014
Time: 4pm

Former champions, Bayelsa United, will take one last shot to claim three points and fancy climbing out of the bottom four after a series of poor results recently. In their last six league matches, Bayelsa United have managed just a point out of 18.

Glo Premier League first timers, Giwa FC and one of the surprise packs of the season so far will want to compound the woes of their hosts. The Jos-based club have shown that they can play anywhere by recently securing a big point at six-time champions, Enyimba. A win for Giwa in this match, will be an upset, will lift them into the top three.
