Isah Aminu was the hero of the day for Kaduna United as his brace helped his team to a 2-0 win over Bayelsa United on Wednesday.
Kaduna United and Bayelsa United were involved in a Glo Premier League Match Day 4 rescheduled game and the hosts deservedly went in front after 34 minutes through Isah Aminu's spot kick.
Bayelsa United showed a lack of composure in the final third of the match and failed to battle their way back into the game.
It was, however, Aminu, who finished off the Restoration Boys, as Bayelsa United are also known, with a 77th minute goal after Siman Yusuf slipped the ball to him. But Aminu paid the price for that goal later when he had to make way for Jeremiah Gabriel after coming off injured for his bravery in scoring the second goal.
The loss means Bayelsa United slipped out of the top three and are now in sixth place.
The Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos had a full capacity crowd as Giwa FC hosted Kano Pillars in one of the rescheduled Match Day 1 fixture.
Chinenye Agoha scored for Giwa FC in the 31st minute before Kabiru Umar equalised for the champions, Kano Pillars, on 60 minutes.
Umar was later given the marching orders by the centre referee, Paul Umuago leaving Kano Pillars to finish with 10 men.
But the talking point of the second half was Kano Pillars' goalkeeper and captain, Theophilus Afelokhai, pulling off four big saves to help the champions secure a second draw on the road in the space of four days.
Enyimba avoided a third straight defeat in this season's campaign as they held Warri Wolves to a scoreless draw at the Warri City Stadium.
The game between Rangers and Nembe City at the UNEC Stadium did not finish after a heavy downpour brought it to an abrupt end in the 78th minute.
Rangers were leading 2-0 through goals from Meshack Chukwubuikem and Christian Obiozor. The remaining 12 minutes of the match will now be completed tomorrow (Thursday).
